Business as Unusual?

This is a first edition of my rants against the insanity of business in America.

Today I entered a McDonalds resturaunt at 10:59am Hoping that I could just catch the end of the breakfast cycle. As the Patron asked me what I wanted the Manager slowly turned the wheel that changed the Breakfast menu to Lunch. I inquired if I could get a Sausage egg McMuffin, She promptly asked the kitchen staff and was quickly rebuked. I found it to be rigid and non sensical that a turn of a sign and the stroke of a clock could render their ability to poach an egg and fry a sausage patty useless, but I settled without a fight and asked for a double fillet o fish and a Medium coffee. I paid over $7 for this combo ($4.99 for the fish). I preceeded to wait for 15 mins. while no less than nine workers (including the Manager) mulled around near the front registers discussing various things with each other including ordering lunch from the nearby chinese reaturaunt; and four workers were in the kitchen busy as Bees working on some unknown tasts (considering that I was the only Customer waiting at the registers). After looking into my disgusted eyes the Patron attempted to ease my anguish with some words of wisdom, "At least its fresh". I could'nt leave quietly with those parting words lingering in my mind, so I politely stated that the Sausage McMuffin with Egg would have been both Fresh and Quicker. She concurred.
