Steven Slater, Jet Blue Flight Attendant, Jumps Down Emergency Chute

What rock did some of these commentors come from under, this is not a story about rude people, and a guy who couldn't take it any more. Rude Obnoxious People come a dime a dozen and are encountered by every one of us every single day to some degree or another. This is a story of an unstable individual Who was in a position to activate that same emergency slide tens of thousands of feet in the air, with hundreds of lives at stake. I fly Jet Blue almost exclusively and I am now concerned with how they screen their employees and what measures are taken to check their emotional stability on a regular basis. This is not some humurous, harmless story. It could have been a very tragic event. This Unstable Moron should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and then some. Its remarkable that people are willing to allow full body scans, strip searches, willing to be limited to a certain amount of lotion or shampoo, and remove their shoes in the interest of airport security; yet they treat this story as one mans triumph against rudeness. WAKEUP!

Do you know what you're telling me? and Why?

I Returned to my usual Laundry Spot this Morning. For the last Month or so I have been going to a closer spot to save time. After greeting one on the regulars and exchanging pleasantries, I went on with the business of getting my laundry done. I got everthing into the wash and went to a local 'Drunkin Donuts' for a small Black Hazelnut Coffee. I returned to the Laundry, sat down; and preceeded to drink my coffee and listen to music on my Iphone. Appearantly the local (an older woman in her 60's) decided to sit down next to me and strike up a conversation. She started by commenting on the two guys at the other end of the Laundry (approximately 150' away from us) holding a conversation loud enough to be heard on the next block, then she segued into her thoughts on the latest Tropical Disease Scare in America. After giving her thoughts on the comunicability of diseases such as Aids, Hepatitis and TB. She assured me that she had personal knowledge that these diseases could easily be spread without intimate contact. Before I could agree or disagree with her findings she began to regale me with tales of her youth, which included the story of how she took care of her ailing mother (who had a respiratory plroblem) for years; and how she herself was later diagnosed with having antibodies for the TB Virus. Upon hearing this news I repositioned myself in my chair to not directly face her, and made certain to keep my mouth shut while she spoke. It clearly wasn't apparent to her that I was now uncomfortable with her proximity, because she positioned herself closer and began to punctuate her points with pojected words and arm touching. I tried to reassure myself that unless she spat directly in my mouth all would be well, but her every comment was designed to prove to me that diseases such as the one that she claimed to have antibodies for was easily comunicable. My chest began to hurt; It was all Like some very Twisted and Evil Candid Camera episode. luckily my wash was done and her dryer had stopped. If I'm ever to return to this Laundry, I'll have to adjust my arrival time. People please Listen to what you say to others, and keep your eyes open to the subtle and not so subtle body Language of those around you

Share The Air, Spare My Ear.

While running errands, I made the improptu descision to have a quick bite at a Local Wendys Restaraunt. I rarely eat Franchised Fast food, despite the fact that this is the second post relaying my experience at them. Although the following activities can be and are occuring in just about every public place accross the Country, my encounter today was at Wendys. I chose to eat my Boneless Chipote Hot Wings in the store because there were only two of the twenty or so tables occupied. One by a 20 something Latina women with her 2 year old and an infant in a carriage; and one by two teenage Latina girls. Both seemed to have been there a while and seemed to be ready to depart at any moment. I brain-worked all of this because I know that I'm easily annoyed by loud abraisive people in public eviornments. I received my food and sat down just as the two teens were leaving (plan preceeding as scheduled). But as murphy would have it the young Mother stayed, and then she proceeded to pull out her cell phone (a major glitch in the plan). She spent the next 10 minutes unleashing a barrage of profanity, peppered with ghetto colloquialisms. She left the restaurant without missing a note. Just as I began to revel in the quiet, an employee on break sat down at a table nearby and began a long loud conversation on her cell phone. If you remember, I stated that there were some twenty odd tables at the establishment. Appearently, the one that I chose was in the center of a desired vortex. The employee seemed to have an endless break in which to carry on her endless conversation; but I was only a few bites away from freedom. Before I could take the last bite of my chipote, another Patron (black male 40ish)sat down at the next table, and positioned himself to face me directly. This angle obstructed his view of over 80 percent of the restaurant, but appearently the disired vortex was not only by physical proximity but also visual. When the last chipote was eaten, and the last ounce of Hi-C finished; I left the restaurant as if it was on fire. People if you must use your cell in public, please keep your sorted conversations clean, short and quiet; and follow the unwriiten Laws of personal space as dicated in America; not China. Business owners Please govern your unruly clients, before they become your only clients.

iPhone 4: Now with Price Gouging! (Courtesy of AT&T)

I use my iphone for just about everything in my Life, its time for Apple to open up to other Carriers for better Competition and lowwer service rates. Its insane that we still have long term locked contracts with penalties for earlier withdrawal. The very existance of these penalties say " We know that you will be unhappy with our services in the future, so we need leverage to deter you from ending the contract when it happens". The only leverage that any company need to keep customers, is good service at a reasonable price. What happened to the anti trust act? ATT will be the death of Apple if they dont re think their marketing stategy. As stated in the article, outside companies like Netflix will suffer because the bulk of possible customers will be priced out of participating.

James Carville To Obama: Tell BP 'I'm Your Daddy' And Take The Lead In Response

My first responce to JC's rant was negative and i wondered why he would launch this vicious attack on President Obama when his reactions to Bush were never this heated. Then i realized that this is a man watching his Home State dissappear is sea of black, and the people loosing their means of self support at a time when the economy have already knocked them for a loop. This is James Carville reacting as a Human without thought of Political affiliation. President Obama did not Create this mess, but as President it is his responsibility to see it through. At this point in time it is clear to all that BP has no idea what they are doing beyond the profit margin; and all other Oil Companys are silent believing that it is not in their interest to help BP or the U.S. abate this destructive situation. So although new regulations and stricter guidelines are necessary, President Obama must interviene and personally visit the region to reassure the people that everything possible is being done, and that it is a Government Priority.

Arizona Graduation Speech Criticizing Immigration Laws Elicits Boos, Jeers

Politics in a College Graduation Speech, What is the World Coming to? For those who are as clueless as the people who found the Anti-Anti Immigration speech out of place and/or offensive; I am being sarcastic. These Young Adults are expected to enter the real world as active participants; and if they cannot or will not open their minds to the beliefs of others and then have constructive dialogue about how it relates to their own belief and how it affects the World; then they are not ready to Graduate. Immigration Law is the Single most important Political and Human Rights issue Faced by Arizona today, and any thinking Resident must be ready to deal with it openly and Honestly without shutting out the thoughts of their Neighbors.

Subway Stabber Brenddy Garcia Cleared By Grand Jury

All Charges Dropped? I guess carrying a concealed, deadly weapon with intent to use is OK as long as you've had a prior bad experience. That covers 3/4 of the NYC Population. I've have personal knowledge of a co-workers son arrested for a pocket knife, and put to the wringer for months before being convicted in a plea deal, maybe he should've just walked down the streets of a bad neighborhood and killed the first protagonist he ran into.

Obama's Endorsements Fail Democrats

The fake Democrat Spector who cant remember to stop calling himself a Republican, loses. The Tea Party Repubican Candidate Defeats the Replubican with less Votes than each Candidate in The Democratic Primary. The D.I.N.O. Anti Health Care Candidate Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, should have lost by a landslide. Politics is the only reason for President Obama to Support her; Bad Politics. The Only Obama failing as I see was the Total waste of time Supporting the Looser (not just by election) Corzine, instead of spending the time and effort supporting William Thompson in the NY Mayorial Election against the ("My Name is Elmer J. Fudd Billionaire, I own a Mansion and a Yatch") Election Buying Michael Bloomberg. Let the Tea Party live it up in their misguided minds about a "Kentucky" Primary Win; at least Until the rest of the world is heard from.

Deepwater Horizon Inspections: MMS Skipped Monthly Inspections On Doomed Rig

Love the Title "Under both Bush and Obama". If Obama didnt have to spend most of his short time in Office fighting Tea Baggers, Birthers, Anti Health Care Protangonist, Anti Finance Reform, Anti Evironmental Law, exc. exc.; maybe he could have gotten around to reversing some on the Deregulation started during the Regan Era that set these type of disaters into play.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants To Be President

He took little time to destroy the entire economy of one of America"s largest States yet I'm sure it would not be a problem for him to get millions of American Votes regardless of that, and his citizenship status (Birthers included). Proving that the ruling factor in most opposition to President Obama is Race. Delude yourself as you may, No President has been so successful in improving America in so many venues in such a short time; while inspiring such rage from so many for so much. So much for being the first.

Business as Usual

After a long day of Heavy Drinking on the job (Coffee, Green Tea, Water, and Cranberry Juice) I elected to evacuate my bladder a 1/2 hour before leaving the office instead of the Usual 5 Minutes. Needless to say 10 minutes into my 40 minute Commute, a strong urge for relief hit me all of a sudden. As Murphy would have it, traffic on the Parkway stopped just as suddenly. After negotiating my way off of the Parkway and onto the local streets, I was delighted to see a lone gas station in the middle of a heavy residential neighborhood. I entered the establishment after noticing that there was no outside rest room facility and asked the proprietor for directions to the rest room. He immediately pointed to a sign that said "No Bathroom". I asked to see the Manager and explained to him that I had an Emergency #1 and was willing to top off my gas tank, if purchasing was an issue. He like his employee pointed to the dreaded "No Bathroom" sign. Just then I heard a toilet flush and another employee exited a side door drying his wet hands. It took all the discipline that I had to not push them aside, kick the door open and end this fiasco. I left looking for another establishment or a deserted corner to risk arrest in a quest for relief. after 5 Minutes I encountered a Public Ballpark with a large picnic ground. I could see the Bathroom structure in the distant field, so I parked the car and made my way toot sweet across the field to reach a locked park bathroom (3:52pm on a sunny Wednesday afternoon). I finally settled on a large Oak where I rejoined Nature, repositioning myself periodically to adjust for pedestrian traffic. Once again I was foiled from a simple act by the written word, and the shortsighted budget / or Laziness of Public Park officials.

Tea Partiers In Tax Day Protests Try To Explain Why They're Against Obama (VIDEO)

This video is a must see. It should be required viewing in all schools, at all levels; across the entire nation. Its clear that nothing can be done by this Administration to make these individuals understand what is really transpiring in politics today. "Global Warming is Bullshit" How can you reach anyone shouting this phrase while protesting for some unknown breech of their "Freedoms".

Business as Unusual?

This is a first edition of my rants against the insanity of business in America.

Today I entered a McDonalds resturaunt at 10:59am Hoping that I could just catch the end of the breakfast cycle. As the Patron asked me what I wanted the Manager slowly turned the wheel that changed the Breakfast menu to Lunch. I inquired if I could get a Sausage egg McMuffin, She promptly asked the kitchen staff and was quickly rebuked. I found it to be rigid and non sensical that a turn of a sign and the stroke of a clock could render their ability to poach an egg and fry a sausage patty useless, but I settled without a fight and asked for a double fillet o fish and a Medium coffee. I paid over $7 for this combo ($4.99 for the fish). I preceeded to wait for 15 mins. while no less than nine workers (including the Manager) mulled around near the front registers discussing various things with each other including ordering lunch from the nearby chinese reaturaunt; and four workers were in the kitchen busy as Bees working on some unknown tasts (considering that I was the only Customer waiting at the registers). After looking into my disgusted eyes the Patron attempted to ease my anguish with some words of wisdom, "At least its fresh". I could'nt leave quietly with those parting words lingering in my mind, so I politely stated that the Sausage McMuffin with Egg would have been both Fresh and Quicker. She concurred.

Doctor Jack Cassell Refuses To Treat Obama Supporters

I would'nt let this racist piece of crap treat my dog, this is a clear indication that this "Doctor" values some life more than others. if its by race, sex, creed, or political affiliation its a clear violation of ethics and reason for his license to pratice medicine to be immediately revoked. this insanity has to be abated now before the whole Country is propelled back into the dark ages. Military officers refusing to follow orders, doctors refusing to treat patients because of politics (Politics my ass, racism), and elected officials cheering on violent anti-government protestors. I knew that electing a Black Man President of the United States would rile up a number of the self proclaimed Master Race, but I had no idea that responsible people would be allowed to act irresponsible and not be immediately chastised by the majority of the sane entities in this Country.

Pregnant Woman, Husband Kicked Off Spirit Airlines Flight For Asking For Water

This story is about rigid nonsensical rules and regulations that are prevalent throughout American, and other Societies. When this madness started with the airlines, I remember having to throw out toothpaste because the tube had the capacity to hold more than the maximum ounces allowed. It did't matter to the idiot that insisted I throw it out that the tube was 1/2 empty and contained a quarter of the alloted amount allowable. When traveling in China my buddy decided to bring bottled water from the states (Which was totally unnecessary), at one Airport in China they insisted he throw it out, or open and take a drink from every bottle (which he did to my amusement). They allowed him to take the water. These ridiculous stories repeat themselves in other venues of life. Give me some of Yours.

Recurring Dreams And Their Meanings

I used to be able to fly high in the sky, but I would wake myself before landing because i didnt know how to do it safely, later on the flying was lowwer, about 8 feet above ground, even later I could float around at will. The last of these dreams was years ago and I could only glide around like an ice skater. I believe this was showing me that i had lost a great part of my wonder and was being slowly grounded into logical and practical thinking. I felt like a child slowly accepting that there was no Santa Claus.

Glenn Beck: 'African-American Is A Bogus, PC, Made-Up Term... Not A Race'

Irish American, Italian American, Greek American, etc. etc. what other racial / ethnic terminologies would this clown like to eliminate. These terms are used to connect with ones ancestrial lineage while confirming their commitment to America. H&M's NYC Store To Stop Trashing Unsold Clothes

The answer given for this incredibly senseless policy is "it wont happen again......We will stop this practice" This story highlights the greed and insensitivity of buisness in America, the heads of these and many other store chains have decided that if we allow people to have access to these discarded items they will not need to buy them and it will affect our bottom line. If giving clothes away left a nasty taste on their Capitalistic Tonges, why couldn't they sell them at a super discount (i.e. Filienes Basement) or even sell them for rags. Don"t you believe that this is an isolated incident, it is a common pratice in this Country. My Company had dozens of new and crated double cast iron sinks stored in a basement for years. These sinks where old fashioned and discontinued for company use. To take even one would have meant a quick dissmissal for any employee, and tossing them out in the street was not a Company option. They finally resolved to have the sinks (valued at approximate $350) carted away at the companys expense by an rubbish removal Company.
